At our farmhouse we grow our own food and keep chickens who range freely. The 3 acres are managed primarily to be a wildlife friendly habitat. We are in the heart of Tywardreath village, just next to the church. This is a thriving little Cornish village just a quarter of a mile from the sea, 4 miles from Fowey, 3 miles from The Eden Project and 11 miles from The Lost Gardens of Heligan.
The farmhouse, which is set in the heart of the land, is one of the few houses in Tywardreath that claims to be mentioned in Daphne du Maurier’s book The House on the Strand. Parts of the building date back to the 12th century and many of the huge stones that have been used to extend it over the years have come from the priory that used to be situated in our top paddock before the dissolution of the monasteries in the mid 16th century.
